If you are looking for an experienced, dedicated, professional instructor, in the Asheville, Hendersonville, or Greenville area, look no further. There is nothing more frustrating than to have your instructor disappear half way through your training because he got that airline job, or finding out that your instructor just got his license, and is still a relative beginner at flying! My name is Greg Collins, I am a dedicated career Airline Transport Pilot rated instructor, and the only accredited Master Level Flight Instructor in western North Carolina. The National Association of Flight Instructors issues the Master Flight Instructor title only after conducting a thorough review of the instructor's credentials, experience, education, reputation, service to the community, and contributions to aviation education. I have earned a Master Instructor accreditation twice.

I am an instructor at the Hendersonville Airport, just minutes from I-26. Hendersonville is a relaxed, but challenging environment, within minutes of the controlled airspace at Asheville Regional, Greenville Downtown, Greer, and some of the area's most interesting runways.

In addition to instructing, I am a licensed aircraft mechanic. I have built and certified 3 experimental aircraft which are still flying. I took my first flight 30 years ago in 1978 with the US Civil Air Patrol at Farmingdale Airport in New York and entered the United States Marine Corps in 1984 where I served with VMA-214 at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro. I have instructed at 8 different flight schools under both part 61 and part 141. I have experience as a Corporate Pilot, a Farm Service Administration Pilot, and I have been a United States Air Force Flight Screener.

Before spending thousands of dollars on instruction, you owe it to yourself and your family to seek out the most experienced instructor you can find. Someone that will be there to assist you through the whole training process and after you have your license when you want to expand your skills with a tailwheel endorsement, or an instrument rating. Someone that has years of teaching experience and knows how to instruct and communicate.

I have more than 3000 hours of flight instruction time with nearly a 100% first time pass rate for my students. The Gold Seal on my Instructor's Certificate is only issued by the FAA to very active instructors that maintain high standards and pass rates. I am qualified to instruct in everything from light two seat ultralights, to cabin class twin engine airplanes. I am factory trained in advanced systems and aircraft like the Cirrus SR-22 and the Columbia 350. I am Flight Safety trained on the King Air 200/300 series. In addition to the large variety of aircraft offered for rental at Aerolina, I own a 1946 Aeronca Champ tailwheel , which is available for training and solo rental.
